Strawberries and Lemons

Hello the great and wonderful blogging world! Wow spring had landed! This is my first ever post!!! So I’m still getting used to it, bear with me here. If anyone has any advice please share it with me, I’d love to learn more about this blogging business.

Sunshine has come once again so time to switch your cozy knitwear for some gorgeous dresses! Unless you are in England of course, however I will share some great transitional outfits that should keep you going until the real summer heat hits us. We have had a few days of super sunshine recently so I took this rare opportunity to whip out the cute spring/summer pieces, although it is still quite chilly, so I will be doing a bit of simple layering.

Me and my sister dished through some neglected pieces and I put together a totally cute outfit for her! Mixing prints can be quite daunting sometimes but it can really change the feel of your outfit, so have a go. Just look for prints that are a little less loud with cute easy to work with colours (pastels and polka dots are good to start with).

Here I have paired this sweet lemon yellow cardigan, the colour is toned downed to almost a pastel rather than the usual citrus yellow, with a simple white tee that is speckled with dusty purple-ish polka dots. To finish of the look I paired it with a gorgeous lime green skirt with a simple floral pattern, the skirt also has a darker shade of green to tone down the brightness of the lime. The pattern on the skirt is also quite large, finer prints are harder to work with if you are just starting out with patterns. Playing with necklines whilst layering is a great way to add more dimension to your
 entire outfit.

My sister added her lucky badges too like she does to every outfit! I love the strawberry one against the lemon yellow! What do you think?

Good luck
Love Zakiyra X
